http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/ should be mirrored to a a number of other sites including:
However items uploaded to ibiblio are not appearing on the mirrors since 22-Dec
e.g. http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pet_packages-noarch/PupControl-3.1.1.pet uploaded on 27-Dec has not been mirrored to http://ftp.nluug.nl/ftp/pub/os/Linux/distr/puppylinux/pet_packages-noarch/
nluug.nl has confirmed that ibiblio is giving the following errors:
rsync ibiblio.org:: rsync: failed to connect to ibiblio.org (2610:28:3090:3000:0:bad:cafe:23): Connection refused (111) rsync: failed to connect to ibiblio.org (22.214.171.124): Connection refused (111) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(128) [Receiver=3.1.1]
How can this be fixed please??
for: @cmpalmer who has been kind enough to help in the past

Welcome to the distro.ibiblio.org public rsync server.
You may download any of our distributions by using the appropriate module name. For example:
rsync -av distro.ibiblio.org::ubuntu/ /local/path/
If you are mirroring part or all of our distributions, please consider subscribing to our mirror announcement list: http://lists.ibiblio.org/mailman/listinfo/ibiblio-mirrors

So it turns out there were two problems. One is that some indeterminate time in the past we switched to needing to use distro.ibiblio.org instead of ibiblio.org, and the second is that one of the backend rsync hosts was pulling the wrong puppet classes for its role. It was trying to be a fedora-only mirror server, but was in the load balancer as a distros host. I believe that both problems are now fixed. I hope folks will let me know if there are other problems (or if I'm wrong).

Hi @peebee, It looks like Barry Kauler decommissioned Puppy Linux on Jan 3:
Barry push-mirrors to ibiblio, so if the Puppy Community is taking over, I'm happy to point ibiblio's mirror to a central rsync server? (or if a member of the Puppy team would like an ibiblio account to continue push-mirroring to us, we'll be happy to create one).
Answer by peebee · Feb 15 at 06:16 AM
That was back in Jan 3 2016...
Barry Kauler passed control to @01micko (Mick Amadio) who was given access details to the ibiblio account which has been updated ever since using sftp upload...
Puppy Linux is very much alive and well and flourishing under the new "management" - certainly not decommissioned!!
I've forwarded your message to Mick for his response.

Report from one of the puppylinux mirrors.....can this be fixed please? Thanks.
There is still a server with rsync which does not have the puppylinux entry. This is my error: @ERROR: Unknown module 'puppylinux' rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1635) [Receiver=3.1.1pre1] And when the rsync is successful there is still an error: rsync: send_files failed to open "/pet_packages-tahr/sfs_load-2.3.7.pet" (in puppylinux): Permission denied (13)

ugh, puppet ate rsyncd.conf again. there was a foreman upgrade yesterday, but a backout probably reverted this fix. i'm a mere volunteer these days so i'll let @cmpalmer sort it, and probably send him chocolates.
i do see that we're your primary site so we'll hop on that. any word on an account you'd like to use for uploading to us (or any host you'd like us to rsync from)?

There still seem to be problems.....
If you look at the mirrors linked on http://puppylinux.com/download.html
and look at the dates in directory test/xenialpup/
you will see that whilst nluug is in synch
UoC, AARNET and Internode mirrors are way behind.....

Looks like the distro.ibiblio.org rsync modules went away again (ugh). We've been fighting with a Foreman upgrade; I tentatively blame that. We'll look into it.
